In the sinking light
the table was dusty in the vase lilies were bunched some still blooming a reminder of the love and previous loves that opened then closed. Lucy Yang was born to first-generation Chinese immigrants. She teaches high school English in Vancouver and is completing a Master’s program in literacy education at the University of British Columbia. Her poetry has appeared in Ricepaper Magazine and The Maynard.
